The YotaPhone pairs Android with a power-saving e-ink screen on the back.

The unusual, e-ink sporting YotaPhone is poised to be made official at an event in Moscow, and CNET has exclusive access to an English-language live stream of the event itself.
The event -- which will see the Android-powered YotaPhone get an official international launch -- can be viewed below and starts on December 3 at 11:15 p.m. PT, or December 4 at 2:15 a.m. ET. If you're tuning in from the UK, set your watch for December 4 at 7:15 a.m.
The YotaPhone has a regular touchscreen on its front, but sports an e-ink panel on the rear. We got our first look at this quirky mobile back in January, and were intrigued by the promise of extending the phone's battery life by transferring maps or Web pages onto the rear-facing e-ink screen.
Electronic ink -- which has found fame through Amazon's Kindle e-book readers -- is ideal for lengthy reads, as it consumes very little power and is easy on the eyes. The YotaPhone lets you transfer what you're seeing on the LCD front-panel to the e-ink rear by swiping down using two fingers.
Elsewhere, the YotaPhone features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 12-megapixel rear camera. It's expected to come in 32GB and 64GB storage options.
Are you intrigued by the YotaPhone, or are you happy with just one screen on your smart phone? Let me know in the comments, or over on our Facebook wall, and don't forget to tune in to watch the conference live.
